Governance Committee
The evolution of the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) and the development of distinct research programs have created a need for ethics oversight of OICR’s own research. Most of the OICR project activities will be external to OICR and will have the necessary REB supervision; however, OICR-funded research or OICR researcher activities may involve OCREB oversight. OCREB currently serves the OICR’s Ontario Tumour Bank (OTB). To ensure the ongoing independence of OCREB decision-making, a Governance Committee was created to replace the previous OCREB Advisory Committee. This OCREB Governance Committee was established by and reports directly to the OICR Board of Directors.
