Cancer Genomics Program
Overview
The Cancer Genomics Program is creating a catalogue of genetic alterations that occur in different types of cancers to better classify tumours which will allow development of new diagnostic tools and targeted treatments.
An important initiative of the program is its participation as a founding member of the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC). OICR will host the ICGC's secretariat and will house its data coordination centre. Its research role in the consortium is to map the genetic mutations involved in pancreatic cancer.
