Michael Huynh is an executive leader, lawyer, and educator passionate about the responsible handling of data and adoption of innovative technologies. With expertise at the intersection of data privacy, regulation, and ethics, Mr. Huynh provides strategic legal advice to help clients navigate complex legal and technological landscapes.

As General Counsel, at Intellectual Property Ontario, his focus is on delivering transformative change, enhancing the provision of IP legal services, and guiding strategic initiatives to empower Ontario’s innovators and researchers. Alongside this role, as a Lecturer at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law (TMU) and Queen’s Law, Mr. Huynh helps foster the next generation of legal minds in data science, AI, regulatory law, and professional ethics.

Mr. Huynh’s background encompasses litigation, advisory, adjudicative, and leadership roles, with specialized expertise in data governance, regulatory frameworks, corporate governance, and organizational change. Mr. Huynh holds Common and Civil Law degrees (McGill), a Master of Science in genetics (University of Toronto), a Bachelor of Science (McGill) and the CIPP/C privacy certification, all of which underpin his commitment to promoting ethical and accountable data and AI practices.
